🎀 It’s October - Breast Cancer Awareness month. Here are 3 things to know about breast cancer - part 1 !💓 SHARE this with your community!! 1️⃣ Self Check at least once every month: Try and make it a habit to check your breast every month. Important to know what your normal is! Here are some signs to look out for: this list is not exhaustive - please visit the NHS website for more. - a lump, or swelling in your breast, chest or armpit - a change in the skin of your breast, such as dimpling or redness - a change in size or shape of 1 or both breasts - nipple discharge (if you are not pregnant or breastfeeding) - a change in the shape or look of your nipple 2️⃣ Attend your Breast Screening appointment: If you’re between 50-70 years, don’t miss out on the UK’s Breast Screening Programme. Early detection matters, so please attend for your mammograms. This may vary in different countries so please speak to your doctor to find out more. 3️⃣Family Matters: certain gene mutations such as BRCA1 & BRCA2 - can significantly increase your risk of breast cancer. Remember that Breast Cancer Can Affect Anyone: Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate. It can affect the lives of anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background. Important you remind your loved ones to check their breasts. Don’t forget and make sure to see your GP if you have any worries or concerns.
